How Can Mindfulness Enrich Your Life?
Mindfulness is a skill where we purposely direct our attention away from auto pilot and into the present moment, with careful observation and meditation.
Mindfulness helps us to reconnect with our body, mind, senses and emotions in a non-judgemental way. Making informed decisions is possible when we practise mindfulness. It can be difficult to see through the mental clutter when our minds are occupied with stressful thought patterns. When we are confused, we stop being reflective and start acting. Being mindful means being able to live in the moment with, for example, less distraction from bad habits. Mindfulness can exist in any part of your body, not just the mind. Concentrating on our senses entails paying attention to our feet, our arms, etc ...just try to notice how your body feels and be present.
Mindful practice can help to enhance your life, improve your health, well-being and happiness.
Our minds have a tendency to wander erratically, reading the worst possible outcome into events and foretelling outcomes. We can train ourselves to become mindful of unwelcome thoughts for what they are, thoughts, as opposed to letting them run amok in our minds. Thoughts aren't always true. As a result, we can view them as if they were dark clouds in the sky. Clouds are ephemeral. They move in and out. Learn to let go of unrealistic thoughts.
The far-reaching benefits of mindfulness
All aspects of our being—physical, mental, and spiritual—benefit greatly from learning to calm the mind and rest in the still, silent space within.
Stress decreases when we stop feeding our unhealthy thought patterns, which in turn enables the body to heal deeply.
Among its many advantages, mindfulness boosts the immune system, lowers blood pressure, encourages deep sleep, and lessens age-related cognitive decline.
