Mindfulness in nature soothes your heart and soul

Naturally Mindful offers mindfulness workshops, and services that utilise nature and creative arts to empower individuals to take control of their health and healing. We believe that connecting with nature and practising mindfulness can support mental and physical well-being. My services aim to provide individuals with the tools to navigate change and uncertainty with more presence and resilience.

With the recent pandemic, many have turned to local parks, beaches, riverbanks, and woodlands as a way to find solace and connection with nature. This newfound connection is the beginning of our rebirth, a new consciousness that acknowledges our natural kinship with nature and the valuable lessons it can teach us about being present in the moment.

BE ACTIVE

Physical activity is linked to lower rates of depression and anxiety. It can also help you think more clearly and concentrate more effectively at work, have more energy, sleep better, and push yourself. The outdoors is a fantastic place to learn and get active. Nature frequently beckons us outside to engage in physical activity like walking, conversing, and swimming, and you always do it without even realising it. My mindfulness workshops give you the opportunity to be active at your own pace.

GIVE

Individuals who express a strong desire to help others are more likely to be satisfied with their lives. Helping others can make you more social and give you a greater sense of self-worth.

Being thankful and forgiving. Recognising gratitude and being thankful for the gifts that nature imparts on us. Within my workshops, there are invitations to share your reflections and opportunities to give gratitude.

Naturally Mindful and the Five Ways to Wellbeing

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a set of evidence-based public mental health messages aimed at improving the overall population's mental health and wellbeing.

NEF created them in response to a commission from Foresight, the UK government's futures think tank, as part of the Foresight Project on Mental Capital and Wellbeing.

CONNECT

It should come as no surprise that numerous studies show that feeling close to and valued by others is an important part of living a mentally healthy life. By connecting with nature, we can connect with others, with ourselves, with how we're feeling, and with the larger world or even the greater power that is all around us.

Our group workshops provide an excellent opportunity to connect with and meet new people who are interested in mental health, well-being, and self-improvement. Other suggested ways to connect are to speak to someone new, set aside five minutes to find out how someone truly is, or save a conversation for when you are face to face.

LEARN

Lifelong learning boosts self-esteem and promotes social interaction and a more active lifestyle.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the ability to engage in work or educational activities, in particular, aids in the recovery of older people from depression.

Nature offers great opportunities for learning, whether it's the names of things or foraging and what you can eat because it's full of mystery, the unknown, and amazing things. Curiosity and inquiries are only sparked by beginning to comprehend how nature functions.

TAKE NOTICE

Taking notice is about being present in the moment. Worrying about what has happened or what will happen consumes a lot of brain power. We spend very little time in the present moment. This is mindfulness, and it is a skill that takes time to master.

My workshops are an excellent next step in learning mindfulness, how to pay attention, and apply this in everyday life. They provide an opportunity to be inquisitive. Take notice of the beautiful. To be aware of the unusual. Take note of the changing seasons. Be aware of your surroundings and how you feel. Reflecting on your experiences will help you understand what is important to you.
