  • The Community Farm Denny Lane Chew Magna, England, BS40 8SZ United Kingdom (map)

Introduction to Mindful Photography in Nature - The Community Farm

The mindfulness of seeing – discussions and photography activities in nature to start viewing the world mindfully and with full attention.

The Invitation

Explore how photography can promote mindfulness and well-being. Kim Stone, a photographer, and mindfulness teacher, presents a quiet and relaxed session overlooking Chew Valley Lake at The Community Farm.

This session will provide you with a creative evening of Mindful nature photography activities as the sun begins to set.

With Kim's support, you will be able to practice some mindful photography techniques that promote calm and attention while also contributing to your overall well-being. Instead of concentrating on the camera's controls and exposure settings, which are more technical, the emphasis will be on improving how you see.

Mindful photography workshops are open to photographers and non-photographers, regardless of your experience with mindfulness or photography techniques. All digital camera types are welcome, including camera phones.

What to expect?

• Spend the afternoon outside in nature, healing your body and mind.

• Be guided through a series of mindful photography practices.

• Exploring the natural beauty on the land

• A peaceful and mindful space to connect with yourself and nature.

• Breaks for tea, biscuits and reflection.

• A sense of grounding

Your experienced host Kim will lead you through this calming experience and present several mindfulness practises while encouraging you to choose the ones that work best for you.

If the weather allows, the class will spend most of the session outside so that you may connect with nature in this wonderful tranquil outdoor setting.

You’ll have a pause for tea break which is provided for you, so please let your host know if you have any dietary requirements.

This experience will set you up so you are well prepared to maintain regular mindfulness photography practice and apply the advantages of mindful nature connection to your daily life.
